PD<br>M-<br>034 Apollo-Command-Capsule-Style Spacecraft<br>Toggle<br>Switch Guards<br>Toggle switches in confined spaces, or just toggle switches whose function you really care about need to be protected from elbows and anything that might trip or break them. Also you need some sort of hand stabilization to be able to operate the switch at all in aircraft and vehicles that bounce around a lot.<br>The switch guards from the Apollo Spacecraft were never available to the public because they were all hand-built from TIG-welded 4130 steel specifically for the Apollo capsules. There was a small pile left over at Rockwell and we grabbed a few. The ones we sell are high-quality 304 stainless steel investment castings styled after the Apollo Command Capsule  switch guards in form, width and height. These are supplied bare for your own paint or powder coat finish, as you desire.<br>One neat trick with these is they are easy to make into runs on 1.000” centers because the end loops are easy to remove by drilling a 3.5 mm hole where indicated on the back. They have rear locating nubs that can be easily removed, too.<br>These switch guards will fit both the standard 15/32” keyed bushings and the standard 12 mm keyed bushing switch guards. Switch not included of course.<br>We supply switch guards to most modern spacecraft, as well as military vehicles, race cars, aircraft, and anywhere switches are important. NASA has bought hundreds of our other switch guards (and hundreds too for the international space station!) and have purchased these as well.
